Mumbai Temple Robbery: Jewelry Worth ₹1.75 Crore Stolen.webp

Mumbai, April 1 Jewellery worth approximately ₹1.75 crore has been stolen from a Jain temple in the Lalbag area of central Mumbai, police said on Wednesday.

The theft at the temple, managed by the Avighna State Munisurat Swami Shwetambar Murtipujak Jain Sangh Trust, came to light on Monday morning, according to an official at the Kalachowkie police station.

The lock of the temple had been broken. Jewellery worth ₹1.5 crore and a diamond jewellery piece valued at ₹25 lakh were found to be missing, the official said.

A suspect has been identified from CCTV footage and is likely to be arrested soon, he added.
