
Gangtok, March 23 Municipal elections in Sikkim will be held on April 24, and the vote counting will take place the following day, State Election Commissioner (SEC) K C Lepcha said on Monday.
The nomination filing process will begin on March 30, and scrutiny will take place on March 31, he told reporters here.
The last date for withdrawing nominations is April 4.
Voting will be held from 8 am to 5 pm on April 24, and vote counting will begin at 8 am on April 25, he said.
The elections will be held in nine municipalities and nagar panchayats. A total of 93,697 voters are eligible to cast their votes, Lepcha said.
The election panel has completed all preparations for the smooth conduct of the municipal elections in the Himalayan state, he added.
