Chennai, April 11 – Renowned director A.R. Murugadoss joined the growing list of celebrities who have condemned the leak of footage from actor Vijay's latest film, "Jana Nayagan," saying, "It's not just a movie – it's dreams, hard work, and livelihoods!"
In a post on his X account on Saturday, A.R. Murugadoss wrote, "When a film is leaked, it's not just a movie – it's dreams, hard work, and livelihoods. Please support films the right way – only in theaters and official platforms."
Celebrities, including Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Suriya, and Chiranjeevi, along with film industry professionals from various film industries, have condemned the leaking of director H. Vinoth's highly anticipated action film, "Jana Nayagan," which stars Vijay and Pooja Hegde.
Rajinikanth, in a tweet posted in Tamil, expressed his sadness and shock at the leak of "Jana Nayagan" on the internet. The superstar urged film organizations to speak out against this crime and appealed to the government to identify and punish those responsible. He emphasized that such incidents should not happen again.
Kamal Haasan, in his post on X, said, "The leak of #Jananayagan is not an accident – it is the result of systemic failure. Had due process been timely, we would not be here. Excessive delays in certification created an environment conducive to piracy. When legal access is blocked, illegitimate channels take over."
He continued, "Piracy is not just a political issue; it is an attack on art and artists. It endangers the work of hundreds of artists and technicians, and the investments of honest producers, exhibitors, and theater owners, all of whom sustain the cinema we love."
Asking, "Who protects the creator when the system fails?", Kamal Haasan said, "We need accountability, swift certification, strict enforcement, and real-time takedowns. I trust that true lovers of cinema will unite and give a fitting response by watching the film legally in theaters, as you stood with me in the past."
