Muzaffarnagar (UP), March 23 A teacher at a madrasa was arrested on Monday for allegedly sexually assaulting an 11-year-old student in the town of Shahpur in the district, police said.
According to police, the incident came to light after a video of the alleged act surfaced on social media.
Superintendent of Police (Rural) Aditya Bansal said that the teacher, 70-year-old Iqbal, has been booked under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
"The accused has been arrested, and further investigation is ongoing," he said.
