April 09, New Delhi – India's engagement with Myanmar continues to deepen through cultural outreach and community initiatives in Yangon.

Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh stated that a sapling was planted at the India House in Yangon, reaffirming India's commitment to environmental sustainability under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The foundation day of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations was also marked, with emphasis on cultural outreach efforts, including exchanges, scholarships, and the promotion of Indian art, music, yoga, and language, as well as the recognition of various diaspora initiatives.

Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh also posted on X, writing: "Met with leading representatives of Myanmar's strategic community, including the Myanmar Institute of Strategic and International Studies (MISIS), the Centre for Peace and Reconciliation (CPR), the Rakhine Literature and Cultural Association (RLCA), and the Myanmar-India Friendship Association (MIFA), as well as Yangon University and the University of Foreign Languages. We exchanged perspectives on various areas to further strengthen India-Myanmar cooperation."
