Nagaland Assembly Addresses Recruitment Concerns.webp

March 13, Kohima: Procedures for police recruitment were discussed in the Nagaland Assembly on Thursday.

During the question hour, MLA Achumbemo Kikon raised concerns about the 300 rupee application fee for police constable recruitment.

He noted that many applicants come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds and questioned whether such a large amount was necessary for recruitment expenses.

The MLA also expressed concern over reports that selected candidates might be asked to pay additional fees for training.

In response, Deputy Chief Minister (Home) Y. Patton said that the application fee is similar to those charged by several government departments.

However, he clarified that the government will not allow any additional charges from trainees. Mr. Patton assured that if any such proposal reaches his office, he would not approve it, and urged the public to report any unauthorized collections.
