
March 12, Kohima: The first phase of the eighth session of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly concluded today after five sittings.
During the final sitting, the proceedings began with the Question Hour, while Parliamentary Affairs Minister KG Kenye made a statement under Rule 55, expressing his appreciation to the Leader of the House and Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for increasing the amount of the Local Area Development Fund to support the development of the MSME sector.
The Assembly also discussed the presentation of Administrative Reports for 2025-26 from 22 departments, as well as the presentation of reports from the Assembly Committee on Public Accounts, among other matters.
Speaker Sharingain Longkumer stated that the session has been divided into two phases to ensure the well-being of members and officials while enabling policymakers and implementers to effectively carry forward the state's policy work.
The second phase of the session will begin on March 26.
