March 9, Kohima: The Nagaland Assembly today introduced two government bills – the Nagaland Town and Country (Fifth Amendment) Bill 2025 and the Nagaland Shops and Establishments (First Amendment) Bill 2025.

Chief Minister and Leader of the House, Neiphiu Rio, introduced the bills. Both bills will be taken up for consideration and passage tomorrow.

Mr. Rio presented the annual administrative reports for 12 departments for the 2025-26 fiscal year. He also presented the reports and rules for the Nagaland Economic Survey 2025-26, the Nagaland Agriculture Policy 2025, the Nagaland State Disaster Management Plan, and the Incident Response System Guidelines.

Minister for Rural Development, Metsubo Jamir, and Ministers Jacob Zhimomi (PHED and Corporation) and Salhoutuonuo Kruse (Horticulture) also presented the annual administrative reports of their respective departments.

The Question Hour saw discussions on restrictions on firecrackers, allocation of horti-link roads during 2025-26 and 2026-27, unfilled positions in the police constable recruitment drive due to failure in the physical efficiency test, and the status of the modernization of the Dimapur Railway Station.
