March 8, Kohima: The Nagaland State Commission for Women (NSCW) will participate in the nationwide organization of District-wise Mahila Jan Sunwai (Public Hearings) from March 9th to 13th, to commemorate International Women's Day.

Organized under the initiative of the National Commission for Women, the NSCW will hold Public Hearings across 12 districts.

Speaking to media persons in Kohima, NSCW Chairperson W. Nginyeih Konyak stated that the event will begin in Tuensang, Zunheboto, Tseminyu, and Wokha on Monday.

During the five-day Public Hearings, dedicated benches comprising Chairpersons and Members from the Nagaland State Commission for Women, District Administration, District Legal Services Authority, Police Authorities, Legal Experts, and Protection Officers will be present to ensure immediate hearing of complaints, registration and escalation of serious cases, legal guidance and procedural assistance, and time-bound follow-up mechanisms.

Complaints will also be heard on a walk-in basis during this period.

On March 10th, the Public Hearing will be held in Mokokchung and Niuland, followed by Chümoukedima on March 11th, and Longleng and Peren on March 12th, and Kohima, Dimapur, and Mon on March 13th.
