Nagaland NSF Urges Termination of Unadvertised Government Posts.webp

Kohima, March 20 The Naga Students' Federation (NSF) on Friday demanded the termination of all illegal appointments made in various state government departments within 45 days.

In a representation submitted to the Chief Secretary, the federation alleged that 109 posts across 16 government departments were filled without advertisement, bypassing established recruitment procedures and undermining transparency and meritocracy in public service.

The NSF alleged that the appointments were made outside the purview of the Nagaland Staff Selection Board and the Nagaland Public Service Commission, in violation of prescribed norms.

It claimed that many of these engagements, ranging from contractual and ad hoc to temporary appointments, were later regularized without due process.

According to the NSF, the departments where anomalies were detected include Nagaland State Transport, Public Health Engineering, Sericulture, Home Guards & Civil Defence, Food & Civil Supplies, Information & Public Relations, Urban Development, Taxes, Industries & Commerce, Forest, Environment & Climate Change, Economics & Statistics, Law & Justice, Agriculture, Water Resources, Public Works Department, and Land Records & Survey.

Terming the issue as detrimental to thousands of educated Naga youth awaiting fair employment opportunities, the NSF urged the state government to take "decisive and immediate action".

It cautioned that failure to act within the stipulated 45-day period could affect the aspirations of deserving candidates seeking government jobs through proper channels.
