February 24, Kohima: The Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, has reiterated that all foreign nationals visiting Nagaland must compulsorily obtain a Protected Area Permit (PAP).

In a press note today, the police stated that despite repeated advisories on withdrawing the relaxation, foreign nationals continue to enter Nagaland without obtaining the mandatory permit.

The press note said that authorities, including the Ministry of Home Affairs, Indian Missions abroad, FRROs, the Home Commissioner of Nagaland, the Resident Commissioner of Nagaland in New Delhi, and the Secretary of Tourism, Government of Nagaland, are authorized to issue PAPs.

Furthermore, all foreign visitors must also register with the Foreigners Registration Officer of the relevant district within 24 hours of arrival. The police have instructed the public, government departments, travel agents, hotels, and other entities facilitating the stay of foreign nationals to verify that foreign nationals possess valid PAPs before providing any service and to ensure strict compliance with the PAP regulations.
