
Nagpur, March 9 The death toll from the March 1 explosion at SBL Energy Limited, an explosives and ammunition manufacturing firm in Nagpur, rose to 23 on Monday after a woman died from her injuries, according to a police official.
The Nagpur rural police official identified the victim as Seema Vijay Dhurve (27), who had sustained 70 per cent burns in the massive explosion at the unit in Raulgaon, a village in the Katol tehsil of the district.
"She was being treated at Orange City Hospital. Despite the efforts of specialist doctors, she succumbed to her injuries today," the official said.
Two of the injured, both women, had died on Saturday and Sunday, he added.
Twelve of those injured in the explosion, with burns ranging from 30 per cent to 70 per cent, are currently receiving treatment at Orange City Hospital, another official said, adding that some have also suffered severe damage to their internal organs.
Twenty workers died instantly when the explosion occurred on March 1, while 24 others were seriously injured.
