
March 01, Nagpur – A massive explosion occurred today at a factory manufacturing explosive materials in Ravalgaon, Nagpur district, Maharashtra, shaking the entire area.
So far, 17 people have been confirmed dead in this tragic incident, while 18 others have sustained serious injuries. The injured were immediately taken to various hospitals in Nagpur city for treatment.
The district administration quickly responded, with the District Collector and Superintendent of Police arriving at the site to oversee relief and rescue efforts. Teams were deployed to rescue people from the debris, while officials from the Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organization and the Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health arrived to conduct safety and technical investigations.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis described the incident as extremely unfortunate and heartbreaking. He announced that the state government would provide financial assistance of Rs. 5 lakh to the families of those who lost their lives, and that the concerned company would also provide financial support to the victims' families.
According to officials, a large part of the factory was damaged in the explosion, with nearby areas also affected. A detailed investigation has been ordered to determine the cause and assign responsibility for any negligence.
Relief and rescue operations are ongoing, and authorities are closely monitoring the situation.
