Naidu Accuses Jagan of Corruption in Amaravati Project.webp

Yadiki (Andhra Pradesh), April 6 Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu accused YSRCP leader Jagan Mohan Reddy of making corruption allegations while the construction of the new capital, Amaravati, is "proceeding smoothly," and the state is experiencing development.

The former chief minister had recently alleged that "massive corruption" was taking place under the guise of building the capital city, claiming that construction costs were as high as Rs 15,000 per square foot.

"At a time when Amaravati construction is progressing well and development is taking place, he (Jagan) is alleging corruption out of frustration and a lack of acceptance," Naidu said while addressing a public meeting in Yadiki village in Anantapur district.

Describing Jagan's proposal, MAVIGUN—a plan to designate Machilipatnam, Vijayawada, and Guntur as a capital corridor—as "absurd," Naidu alleged that the opposition leader was unwilling to even mention the word "Amaravati."
