Nashik, March 28 A 28-year-old woman was killed and two others were seriously injured when a speeding car crashed into them in the Upnagar area here on Saturday evening.
Sheetal Kashinath Kharote, the deceased, had gone to a two-wheeler showroom near St Xavier's High School to buy a scooter, according to a police official.
Sunny Ram Puri and his cousin, Ravindra Arun Puri, were with her.
A speeding car travelling from Nashik Road to CIDCO hit four or five two-wheelers parked in front of the showroom before hitting Sheetal and the other two as they were exiting the showroom.
The woman died instantly, the official said.
Dnyandev Motiram Sonawane (59), a retired teacher, is alleged to have been driving the car. A case of reckless and negligent driving has been registered against him, and further investigation is underway, the police official said.
