New Delhi, April 11 All user fee payments at national highway toll plazas across the country will be processed exclusively through digital modes, using FASTag or the Unified Payments Interface (UPI), starting Saturday, according to an official statement.
This move represents a significant step towards improving efficiency and transparency in toll collection.
However, the statement noted that this transition has not been implemented in the states of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam, West Bengal, and the Union Territory of Puducherry, due to the Model Code of Conduct currently in effect, following ongoing assembly elections.
