Science and Technology Minister Dr Jitendra Singh reviewed the progress of the National Quantum Mission today, highlighting a major milestone in India's ambitions in quantum technology. Briefing the Minister, officials said that a one-thousand-kilometer quantum communication network, one of the longest in the world, has been successfully demonstrated within less than two years of the mission's launch.
Developed using indigenous technology by a startup, this achievement marks significant progress towards the mission's target of two thousand kilometers over eight years. Dr. Singh emphasized the importance of transparency, structured evaluation, and wider outreach to encourage participation. He called for better communication of India's scientific achievements to strengthen its position in emerging technologies such as quantum computing, biotechnology, and advanced communications.
