
A training workshop on natural farming and the distribution of organic vegetable seeds was organized by the Department of Agriculture, Jammu and Kashmir, in Bhaderwah under the "Jammu and Kashmir Competitiveness Improvement of Agriculture and Allied Sectors Project" to promote home gardening among housewives and small farmers.
The day-long program, attended by approximately 150 women, was inaugurated by ADC Bhaderwah, Sunil Kumar Bhutyal, along with SDO Pranu Aamir Rafiqui.
Coordinator of the workshop, Aamir Rafiqui, stated that the training focused on promoting organic farming practices by teaching techniques such as the preparation of bio-inputs, composting, and basic marketing skills, with the aim of reducing dependence on chemical fertilizers.
Addressing the participants, ADC Sunil Kumar Bhutyal said the workshop aimed to encourage women to grow organic vegetables in their kitchen gardens and to raise awareness about the harmful effects of excessive chemical inputs on human health, soil, and the environment.
