Jaipur, April 9 Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagde said on Thursday that the 'Navkar Mahamantra' is not a praise of any individual, but a symbol of self-purification, faith, and spiritual practice rooted in Indian culture.

Addressing the World Navkar Mahamantra Day ceremony in Bhilwara, he said that the chanting strengthens individuals from within and guides them towards higher life values.

Bagde said that the 'Navkar Mahamantra' is among the oldest and most sacred chants, based on principles such as non-violence, non-possession, and pluralism, and conveys a message of peace, prosperity, and security in society, adding that its relevance has further increased in the present global scenario.

According to an official statement, the governor also highlighted the traditions of Jainism, noting that 'Tirthankaras' attained self-realization and liberation by overcoming inner vices such as anger, attachment, and hatred.

He called upon people to give up such negative traits and strive for self-improvement.

State Cooperation Minister Gautam Kumar Dak said that ongoing conflicts and wars in different parts of the world are a matter of concern for humanity.

He said that the message of "live and let live" given by Mahavira remains highly relevant in the current times.
