Navsari (Gujarat), March 25 A 38-year-old man who lived with a woman was arrested for allegedly raping her two minor daughters from a previous marriage and impregnating one of them in Navsari district of Gujarat, police said on Wednesday.
The accused, who had been in a live-in relationship with the mother of the two girls, aged 13 and 14, in the Chikhli taluka of the district, for the past six years, said Deputy Superintendent of Police B V Gohil.
When one of her daughters complained of stomach pain, a medical examination revealed that she was pregnant, he said.
This led to the discovery that the accused had repeatedly raped both girls. The medical examination of the second girl is ongoing, police said.
A case has been registered against the man under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and he was arrested on Tuesday, they said.
The woman, who was divorced seven years ago, was living with the accused along with her four minor children – two sons and two daughters.
