Mumbai, April 2 Disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz have caused severe economic impact and energy instability in the region, said Indian Navy Chief Admiral D K Tripathi on Thursday, amid the ongoing conflict in West Asia.
Admiral Tripathi stated that competition at sea is no longer limited to oil and energy. It is expanding to resources that will shape future growth, he asserted.
The West Asia crisis began on February 28 following a joint attack by the US and Israel on Iran.
Iran's attacks on its neighbors, along with its control over the Strait of Hormuz, have disrupted global energy supplies, with effects extending far beyond West Asia.
