NCR Businesses Can Use Biomass Pellets Temporarily.webp

March 14, New Delhi: Sujata Sharma, Joint Secretary (Marketing & Oil Refinery) at the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, stated that the Central Air Quality Management Committee (CAQM) has issued a new order permitting the temporary use of biomass-derived pellets.

She explained that the order allows industries, hotels, restaurants, and other businesses within the National Capital Region (NCR) to use Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) pellets as a substitute for natural gas for a period of one month. This measure follows several other initiatives undertaken recently to manage energy needs in the region.
