
Neemuch (Madhya Pradesh), April 2 Police were forced to use batons and tear gas shells on Thursday to control a stone-throwing mob protesting against the molestation of an 11-year-old girl in Neemuch district, an official said.
The girl was allegedly molested by a 55-year-old man in Paddan village, he added.
Seeking strict action against the man and demolition of his allegedly illegal house, a mob comprising villagers protested, he said.
"The mob vandalized the accused's house and also started throwing stones at the police. To control the situation, police used force, including batons, and then fired tear gas shells," the official said.
