March 27, New Delhi: Balendra Shah has been officially appointed as the new Prime Minister of Nepal. President Ram Chandra Paudel administered the oath of office and secrecy to Shah in a ceremony held at the President's Office in Nepal on Friday.
Under constitutional provisions, Shah will now lead a single-party government. The ceremony was attended by senior government officials and representatives from civil society. Shah's Rastriya Swatantra Party secured 182 seats in the House of Representatives election held on March 5, 2026.
