
India has welcomed the successful conduct of the elections and the exercise of their democratic mandate by the citizens of Nepal, which has seen enthusiastic participation. New Delhi has congratulated Prime Minister Sushila Karki, the Government, and the people of Nepal, as well as various stakeholders, for successfully holding these polls, which took place against the backdrop of exceptional circumstances last year.
In response to media queries regarding elections in Nepal, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal pointed out that India has consistently supported peace, progress, and stability in Nepal and has provided logistical supplies as per the request of the Government of Nepal for these elections. He said that the Indian government is looking forward to working with the new Government of Nepal to further strengthen the robust, multifaceted ties between the two countries and their people for mutual benefit.
