April 1, New Delhi: Nepal has increased aviation fuel prices by up to 117.4% for international flights, effective after midnight on Tuesday.
The state-owned Nepal Oil Corporation stated that price increases of 84.7%, 116.2%, and 117.4% for flights from Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Bhairahawa, respectively, were necessary to prevent further supply disruptions. Prices for domestic flights have also been raised by 97.6%.
Earlier in March, Nepal had increased petrol and diesel prices by 9.55% and 7%, respectively, and had also begun rationing cooking gas. These fuel price adjustments are part of measures to manage rising costs and ensure continued supply amid global energy volatility.
