
Kathmandu, April 1 The House of Representatives of Nepal will elect a new Speaker on Sunday, sources said on Wednesday.
An all-party meeting held at the Singhadurbar secretariat on Wednesday decided to submit nominations for the Speaker candidates on April 3 and conduct the election on April 5, according to sources.
The meeting was chaired by Arjun Narsingh K.C. of the Nepali Congress, the oldest member of the House of Representatives.
President Ramchandra Paudel has called for a parliamentary session on Thursday.
Until a new Speaker is elected, the oldest member of the House of Representatives will preside over the House meeting.
