Nepal Polls Update: Key Parties Leading in Counting.webp

March 09, New Delhi — Counting is still underway in two constituencies using the first-past-the-post system in Nepal, while final results have been declared for 163 constituencies.

The Rastriya Swatantra Party has won 124 seats and is leading in one constituency. The Nepali Congress has secured 17 seats and is leading in one, while the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist–Leninist) has won eight seats and is ahead in one constituency. The Nepal Communist Party has secured seven seats.

The Rastriya Prajatantra Party has won one seat, while the Shram Sanskriti Party has secured three seats. An independent candidate has also won one seat from Myagdi.

For the 110 seats under the proportional representation system, counting has been completed for 68 seats. Counting had not started in nine constituencies before noon today, while counting for the remaining 33 seats is currently underway.
