Nepal to Operate Flights for Stranded Nationals.webp

Kathmandu, April 2 Nepal's national carrier will operate special flights for three days, starting this Friday, to bring back its citizens stranded in the Gulf countries due to the ongoing conflict in the region.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a Nepal Airlines flight will depart for Dubai on Friday at 11:15 PM (local time) and return to Kathmandu early Saturday.

On the morning of April 5, a flight will leave for Dammam in Saudi Arabia and return to Kathmandu at noon on the same day.

The decision was made following a meeting on Tuesday that included senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), and Nepal Airlines.

During the meeting, discussions were held on measures to facilitate the travel needs of Nepali citizens in the Gulf region and to ensure the continuity of essential air connectivity.

Regular flights on these routes had remained suspended since February 28 due to the ongoing conflict and security situation in the Gulf region.
