Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan launched the ‘Bharat Vistaar AI Tool’ from Jaipur today, marking a significant step towards strengthening digital agriculture and smart advisory services across the country.
The launch event was broadcast live at Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) across the Jammu division. In the Rajouri district, the Krishi Vigyan Kendra Rajouri organized a special live broadcast program where farmers and Krishi Udami (agricultural extension officers) gathered to witness the launch and receive detailed information about the newly introduced AI-based platform.
The awareness program was held in the Thanamandi area of Rajouri, where agricultural experts explained the key features and benefits of the Bharat Vistaar AI Tool. The platform is designed to provide real-time advisory services to farmers, offering guidance on crop management, pest control, soil health, and various government schemes.
Officials stated that the AI-enabled tool will empower farmers to make informed decisions, enhance productivity, and adopt modern agricultural practices. KVK officials emphasized that such digital initiatives would help bridge the information gap in rural areas and strengthen the rural economy.
Speaking to the media, Chief Scientist of KVK Rajouri, Dr. Arvind Isher, said the primary objective of the initiative is to create awareness among farmers about government schemes through AI technology. He informed that in the near future, the tool will facilitate farmers in their local languages and enable them to access the benefits of centrally sponsored schemes more easily. He also added that farmers can obtain information by calling the dedicated helpline number 155261.
