Foundation stone laid for drainage project in Gogamukh
In an effort to address the issue of artificial flooding in the town of Gogamukh, Assam, Education Minister and MLA Ranoj Pegu of Dhemaji laid the foundation stone today for the construction of a concrete drainage system under the State Government's SOPD(G) scheme.
The project, estimated at ₹2.59 crore, will involve the construction of a 1,100-meter concrete drain along the Gogamukh Chariali–Ghilamora State Highway.
Residents have long faced difficulties due to artificial flooding in the rapidly growing town and have expressed hope that the new drainage system will provide much-needed relief.
