
New Delhi, March 5 Tamil Nadu Governor R N Ravi has been appointed as the Governor of West Bengal and Lieutenant General Syed Ata Hasnain (retired) has been named the new Governor of Bihar, as part of major gubernatorial appointments effected by President Droupadi Murmu on Thursday night.
Ravi succeeds C V Ananda Bose, who resigned earlier in the day.
President Murmu has accepted Bose's resignation, according to a communique issued by her office.
Kerala Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar will discharge the functions of the Governor of Tamil Nadu, it said.
Vinai Kumar Saxena, the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, has been appointed as the LG of Ladakh in place of Kavinder Gupta, who has been named as the Governor of Himachal Pradesh.
Taranjit Singh Sandhu has been named the LG of Delhi, the communique said.
Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla has been made the Governor of Telangana in place of Jishnu Dev Varma, who has been appointed as the Governor of Maharashtra.
Nand Kishore Yadav has been appointed as the Governor of Nagaland, the communique said.
