KULGAM, FEBRUARY 28: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education, Sakeena Itoo, inaugurated the High Dependency Unit (HDU) at the District Hospital Kulgam, strengthening critical care services in the district.
The HDU, equipped with multipara monitors, oxygen supply, defibrillator, infusion pumps, and emergency resuscitation equipment, will provide advanced monitoring and treatment for patients with serious medical, surgical, cardiac, respiratory, post-operative, and obstetric conditions.
The Minister highlighted that the facility bridges the gap between intensive care and routine care, reduces referrals to tertiary hospitals, and reflects the Omar Abdullah-led government's commitment to enhancing accessible, quality healthcare at the grassroots level. She also interacted with hospital staff and patients to assess their needs and gather feedback.
Deputy Commissioner Shahzad Alam, CMO Kulgam, senior district officials, and medical staff attended the inauguration.
