Rajiv Jasrotia, an MLA from the BJP, inaugurated several development projects in Hatli Panchayat and surrounding areas of the Kathua district.
The projects, worth approximately ₹48 lakh, include the construction of 16-lane drains with cover slabs, the resurfacing of interior lanes, and the installation of a new transformer to improve voltage stability for households, wells, and small businesses in the area. The MLA also announced that a ₹6 crore water supply project has been approved for the Jasrota constituency to address the issue of water scarcity.
Officials and field teams from the RDD, Flood Control, PWD, PHE, PMGSY, and PDD departments were present at the event.
Speaking to the media, Rajiv Jasrotia stated that regular inspections would help expedite approvals and ensure the completion of long-standing projects demanded by the public. He emphasized that development is an ongoing process that requires consistent monitoring rather than one-time inaugurations.
He also urged the PDD and PHE departments to expedite the completion of pending works, particularly before the onset of summer. Local residents expressed their gratitude to the MLA and the government for addressing their long-standing issues and initiating development works in the area.
