The Integrated Child Development Services Department has launched Poshan 2.0 in the Reasi district to strengthen efforts aimed at combating malnutrition among children and improving the health and nutrition of women and young mothers.

As part of the initiative, a dedicated center under the scheme has been established in Arnas to provide nutritional support, awareness, and monitoring of beneficiaries. The program focuses on ensuring better nutrition for children, pregnant women, and lactating mothers through coordinated services and community participation.

Surinder Kour provided details, stating that Poshan 2.0 aims to strengthen the existing nutrition delivery system by improving the quality of supplementary nutrition and enhancing the outreach of Anganwadi centers.

She said that the newly established center in Arnas will help identify cases of malnutrition and ensure timely intervention through regular health check-ups, growth monitoring, and nutrition counseling.

Kour added that the initiative will also focus on raising awareness among families about balanced diets, hygiene, and proper childcare practices. She said that community participation and coordination with health and allied departments will play a crucial role in achieving the objectives of the scheme.

Officials expressed hope that the implementation of Poshan 2.0 in the district will significantly contribute to reducing malnutrition and improving the overall health indicators of women and children in the region.
