New Policy Restricts Social Media Use in Sikkim Forest Dept..webp

Gangtok, March 20 The Sikkim Forest and Environment Department has prohibited employees from creating reels or posting personal content on social media during working hours, according to an order issued on Friday.

According to the directive issued by PCCF-cum-Principal Secretary Pradeep Kumar, staff members have been instructed not to create or share personal social media content while on duty.

The move is aimed at maintaining professionalism and ensuring that official time is strictly devoted to work-related responsibilities, the order said.

However, the department clarified that digital content related to forestry, environment, and wildlife awareness will be permitted if it is created strictly for official purposes.

Earlier, the Sikkim Police had issued a similar directive, restricting personnel from making reels while in uniform.
