JAMMU, FEBRUARY 27: Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary directed strict enforcement of e-Challan at crusher units, mandatory GPS tracking of mining vehicles, and the "One Parchi–One Load" rule to eliminate illegal mining across Jammu and Kashmir.
Chairing a high-level Mining Department meeting, he emphasized zero tolerance for violations, ordering immediate seizure of vehicles without GPS and strict action against misuse or duplication of Parchis. He also stressed adherence to excavation limits, bans on unauthorized riverbed mining and night operations, and stronger inter-departmental coordination.
The Deputy Chief Minister gave District Level Task Forces full authority to act decisively against offenders, including complicit officials, and called for monitoring of mineral blocks, crusher unit compliance, pending dues, royalty and penalty enforcement, and adoption of best practices from other states.
The meeting was attended by senior officials, including Additional Chief Secretary Ashwani Kumar, Director Geology and Mining, DCs, SSPs, and other officers.
