
February 23, Kohima: A Saksham Centre, under the National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM), was inaugurated today at the Zukhumki Federation under the Chukitong Block in the Wokha district.
The inauguration was conducted by the Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission, Block Mission Management Unit, RD Chukitong Block.
The Branch Manager of Nagaland Rural Bank, Wokha, Imlikala, highlighted the strong connection between banks and community-level federations, expressing confidence in providing loans to NRLM Self-Help Groups due to strict monitoring and proper accounting under the mission.
The Area Coordinator-Financial Inclusion, Chonbemo Kikon, noted that 7.8 crore rupees has been allocated to NRLM SHGs in Wokha.
Meanwhile, the District Coordinator–FI informed that the Zukhumki Federation centre is the seventh Saksham Centre established in the district.
The programme was attended by 60 participants, including federation members, SHGs, and officials.
