March 20, New Delhi – In a significant step towards making India's tax system more transparent and citizen-friendly, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman launched a nationwide campaign called "Prarambh 2026" on Friday.
The campaign aims to disseminate information about the newly introduced income tax rules, ensuring that citizens can easily understand their rights and navigate tax-related procedures without confusion.
Speaking at the launch event, Finance Minister Sitharaman highlighted the extensive efforts undertaken by the Department of Revenue to keep taxpayers at the center of reforms.
The department has seen intense work to ensure that taxpayers' concerns are addressed and that the system remains simple and transparent.
