The opening of the third bridge constructed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) over the Basantar River in Samba on the Jammu–Pathankot National Highway has brought relief and happiness to commuters, local residents, and the business community of Samba town.
Constructed at an estimated cost of around ₹46 crore, the bridge will allow direct movement of trucks heading towards Jammu and buses arriving from other states. This is expected to significantly reduce traffic congestion in the main market area of Samba and also help in minimizing sudden road accidents.
Residents of Samba and nearby areas have expressed gratitude to the government for completing the project and improving connectivity and traffic management in the region.
