
The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a private pharmaceutical company in New Delhi. The Department of Pharmaceuticals, under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, announced that the MoU will promote pharmaceutical education and research in the country.
On this occasion, Cohort 2 of Alliance for Medicinal Research, Innovation, Translation and Value Acceleration (AMRITVA) was also launched. The AMRITVA initiative aims to translate academic and institutional pharmaceutical research into entrepreneurial and market-oriented initiatives, strengthening the country's pharmaceutical innovation ecosystem.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Manoj Joshi, Secretary of the Department of Pharmaceuticals, in New Delhi. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Joshi emphasized the role of collaborative partnerships between academia and industry in strengthening the research-to-market pipeline. The Secretary added that such initiatives are crucial for advancing domestic innovation capabilities, encouraging entrepreneurship, and ensuring wider access to cost-effective healthcare solutions.
