Lucknow, March 17 The NISHAD party, a partner of the BJP, announced on Tuesday plans to hold rallies in the Purvanchal region, starting from Gorakhpur on March 22, apparently as a show of strength in the run-up to the 2027 assembly elections.
The party also plans to organize a rally in Meerut with the aim of strengthening its presence in western Uttar Pradesh and forging new social connections, said the party, whose chief, Sanjay Nishad, is a cabinet minister in the BJP-led government in Uttar Pradesh.
Special focus is being given to Purvanchal, which has traditionally been the stronghold of the NISHAD (Nirbal Indian Shoshit Hamara Aam Dal) Party, where efforts are underway to further consolidate its support base.
The party said it will be organizing public rallies in Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Prayagraj, and Meerut. "Through these gatherings, the NISHAD party aims not only to showcase its organizational strength, but also to strongly raise key social and political issues," it said in a statement.
Currently, the NISHAD party has five MLAs in the UP Legislative Assembly.
A rally has been planned in Gorakhpur on March 22, which is seen as the beginning of the party's election campaign, and will serve as a major show of strength, as it is eyeing large-scale participation of its workers, supporters, and members of the Nishad community.
Through these rallies, the party intends to send a clear message that it is fully prepared and entering the electoral arena with strength and confidence, the statement said.
In addition to these proposed large-scale rallies, the party has appointed in-charges in all 88 organizational districts across the state.
