Nitish Kumar's Tenure in Bihar Declared a 'Golden Chapter'.webp

Ranchi, March 5 Leader of the Opposition in the Jharkhand Assembly, Babulal Marandi, on Thursday said Nitish Kumar's tenure as Chief Minister of Bihar will be remembered as a golden chapter in the state's history.

Kumar announced his decision to enter the Rajya Sabha earlier in the day, bringing an end to his 20-year tenure as the longest-serving Chief Minister of the state.

"Respected @NitishKumar ji, for the past three-four decades, you have been at the heart of Bihar's politics. Your contribution in pulling Bihar out of the chaos and establishing good governance has been unparalleled," Marandi said in a post on X.

The senior BJP leader said that under Kumar's leadership, Bihar has achieved a new direction in administrative stability, development, and order.

"In public life, you have always upheld the values of integrity, dignity, and ethics. Your tenure as Chief Minister of Bihar will be remembered as a golden chapter in the state's history," Marandi said.

"Now, as a Rajya Sabha member too, the House will undoubtedly be honored by your experience, vision, and leadership. My heartfelt best wishes for your bright future and this new innings. Your experience and contribution in building a developed India will remain extremely vital for the nation," he said.

Kumar and BJP president Nitin Nabin were among five NDA candidates who filed their nomination papers on Thursday for the Rajya Sabha polls.

Meanwhile, the ruling JMM attacked the BJP over the political developments in Bihar, asserting that it was an insult of the people's mandate in the state.

"The BJP's tactics and character have once again been exposed before the people of the country. The person on whom the people of Bihar placed their trust and gave the mandate, has been pushed away from the mainstream of politics," JMM general secretary and spokesperson Vinod Pandey said in a release.

He claimed that the "conspiracy" of removing Kumar was underway for a long time.

"The BJP has committed 'political elimination' of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and insulted the mandate of Bihar," Pandey added.
