Government sources stated that a media report claiming that Iran has requested India to release three tankers seized in February to allow safe passage for Indian-flagged vessels is false. Sources indicated that there has been no such discussion between Indian and Iranian authorities. They added that, in any case, the three vessels are not owned by Iran.
