March 27, New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the Noida International Airport, a project expected to significantly boost connectivity and economic growth in the region. Ahead of the inauguration, Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu highlighted how the airport will transform the development landscape of Uttar Pradesh and strengthen India’s aviation infrastructure.
He said, "The inauguration of the Noida Airport is a defining moment in India's civil aviation history, and this project is aligned with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who wants Indian aviation to be sustainable, inclusive, accessible to the common man, and future-ready.
Looking at the Noida International Airport, it caters not only to the Delhi NCR region but also to western Uttar Pradesh. With the arrival of this airport, connectivity for Delhi and western UP will not only become more accessible to the rest of the country but also across the world.
Previously, economic activity was largely concentrated around the Delhi airport, with a focus on the Delhi and Gurugram region. However, with the upcoming Noida International Airport, Noida and Greater Noida will collectively expand, and more inclusive growth is expected across the Delhi NCR region.
What is more important is the way the Indian government has supported the project, not only as an airport operation but also as a broader development initiative. I would like to sincerely thank the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, for bringing forward this grand vision. The airport will also have a strong MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) line in line with the concept of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
Additionally, the cargo terminal being developed there will improve Indian exports and strengthen supply chain logistics, especially for e-commerce in the region. It will also encourage industrial growth, leading to significant job creation. Sectors such as real estate, tourism, hospitality, and services are all expected to benefit from the airport's development.
Overall, it is going to be a great opportunity.”
