
Panaji, April 7 A 23-year-old female employee of a five-star hotel was killed, and her male colleague seriously injured after a speeding luxury car, allegedly driven by the son of a businessman, crashed into their motorcycle in North Goa, police said on Tuesday.
Police arrested Darius Dias (22) on Monday in connection with the accident, which occurred in the Dona Paula area near here on Sunday night, an official said.
Dias, who was allegedly driving a Mini Cooper, crashed into the motorcycle, he said, adding that the car had a temporary license plate, installed before the vehicle is registered with the Regional Transport Office (RTO).
Diksha Parwadkar, who was riding as a pillion on the motorcycle, was declared dead upon arrival at a private hospital, while her colleague, D Arun Kumar (26), remains in critical condition, the official said.
The two were employed at a five-star hotel and were returning home after completing their night shift, he said, adding that an investigation is underway.
