The Jammu Railway Division of Northern Railways has announced the addition of an extra third AC (3AC) coach to the Jammu Rajdhani Express to accommodate passengers during peak travel times, particularly during festivals, and to reduce the waiting list. An Akashvani Jammu correspondent reports that, prioritizing passenger convenience and aiming to manage the increased demand, the Jammu Division has decided to add an additional third (3-tier) AC (3AC) coach to train number 12426, the Jammu-Rajdhani Express. This coach will be added temporarily on March 7 and March 14 for the specified period. This measure is intended to ensure a better and more comfortable journey for passengers currently unable to travel due to the long waiting lists. The additional coach will provide approximately 72 additional seats or berths per journey, allowing more passengers to secure confirmed tickets. Speaking about the facility being provided by the Jammu Division, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Uchit Singhal, said, "The Jammu Division is committed to providing a better travel experience for passengers. The addition of coaches to the Rajdhani Express will not only increase capacity but also provide passengers with modern safety and comfort features." The Jammu Division requests passengers to check the latest status and availability through the official IRCTC website or the railway's official enquiry number 139.
