Peshawar, April 6 Security forces killed three terrorists in a drone strike in northwest Pakistan on Monday, police said.

The drone strike targeted a hideout of terrorists belonging to Lashkar-e-Islam in the Orakzai district of the restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

Police said the operation was carried out after receiving intelligence about the presence of terrorists in the Aka Khel Zarmeen Gul Chowk area in the district's Tirah Valley.

Around eight to 10 terrorists were reportedly present at the location when the strike was conducted, they said.

As a result, three terrorists were killed and two others were wounded, police said.

The terrorists killed in the strike belonged to the Aka Khel tribe, which is native to the Tirah Valley.

Pakistan continues to grapple with terrorism, with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa being the most affected province, according to a 2025 report by the Centre for Research and Security Studies based in Islamabad.
