
New Delhi, March 19 State-owned power giant NTPC announced on Thursday that its subsidiary, NTPC Renewable Energy, has begun commercial electricity supply of 165 MW from the 1200 MW Khavda-II solar project in Gujarat.
This brings the total installed capacity of the NTPC group to 88,709 MW and the commercial capacity to 87,629 MW, according to a regulatory filing.
According to the filing, NTPC announced the declaration of COD (Commercial Operation Date) for the fourth part of the 165 MW capacity of the 1200 MW Khavda-II Solar PV Project in Gujarat, operated by NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd, a subsidiary of NTPC Ltd through NGEL, starting March 19, 2026.
In a separate filing, NTPC Green Energy (NGEL) stated that the current commercial capacity of NTPC Green Energy Ltd Group stands at 9562.68 MW.
With the addition of this capacity, the total installed capacity of the NTPC Green Energy Limited Group will increase to 9727.68 MW.
