Gurugram, April 1 A 30-year-old nurse was allegedly sexually assaulted, blackmailed, and pressured to convert to Islam under the guise of marriage in the Nuh district, police said on Wednesday.
The survivor works in Delhi and has been residing in the Nuh district since last year.
According to her complaint, the accused, identified as Sahil, lured her into a relationship between September and March last year, promising to marry her against her will.
The woman also accused Sahil of sexually assaulting her, extorting money, and blackmailing her with objectionable videos. He is also accused of pressuring her to convert.
An FIR was filed at the Nuh city police station on Tuesday against the accused, his father, and his brother, all residents of Palwal district, the police said.
The case invokes relevant sections of the BNS and the Haryana Prohibition of Unlawful Religious Conversion Act, 2022, they added.
"We are investigating the matter, considering all aspects. Further action will be taken based on the evidence. The accused will be arrested soon," a police spokesperson said.
